Report reaching us now is that some banks have started paying customers old 500 and 1000 banknotes as supreme court urged them few days ago.
Few days ago supreme court set a panel that old 200,500 and 500 notes should remain as legal tender until December 31 2023.
The apex court in it's ruling,also nullified the federal government naira redesign policy declaring it as affront to the 1999 constitution.
Presently it reports that commercial banks in some metropolis like Lagos and Abuja have started dishing out the old 500 and 1000 respectively as at march 6th 2023.
This is a good and an important policy at this moment as the cashless policy has affected everyone in the country ranging from poor to the rich,so I urge everyone to go to their various banks to know if your bank is among the ones that have commenced paying old notes, surely the circulation will be random in few time.
