On Sunday 5th march 2023 there was a wide speculations that flutterwave account was hacked and 2.9bn (₦2,949,557,867) was stolen by the hackers which affected over 300 customers.
Flutterwave have come out to debunk the rumour and urges customers to have a strong trust on them that such did not and shall never happen,
According to them:
"I want to reassure you that Flutterwave has not been hacked. As a financial institution, we monitor transactions through our transystems and 24-hour fraud desk and review any suspicious activity. We collaborate with other financial institutions and law enforcement agencies to keep our ecosystem safe and secure.”saction monitoring"
