Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko popularly known as Adekunle Gold or Ag baby is a Nigerian Afrobeat singer,song writer who rose to fame after releasing the hit track titled "Sade".
Adekunle later got signed with YBNL and released another hit titled "gold", ever since then he has been a big face and so relevant in the Afrobeat music industry.
On Tuesday 14th march 2023, Adekunle Gold hit another level in his musical career,as he was signed with popular American record label Def,jam Recordings.
This was announced by the company's chief executive officer/chairman Tunji Balogun as reported by billboard on Tuesday.
Balogun showered praises on Adekunle Gold's artistic in the industry emphasizing on how peculiar the artist is.
He said..
"I have been following Adekunle Gold since I first heard his record"Sade" in 2016, "he said " over the years, everything in Adekunle AG's world has elevated,his song writing has refined,the scope of his artisty has widened,his vocal has strengthened,his approach to fashion is more distinct and his showmanship and his performance ability have grown exponentially".
He stepped in to stardom on his own and terms and he is completely comfortable being his true self".
Balogun also talked about how he had been working tirelessly to bring Def jam into Afrobeat space as soon as he started working with the company in 2022.
Adekunle Gold couldn't get off the excitement as he revealed that getting signed with the American record label is nice and right move for him at the stage of his music career as he described Balogun as his studio buddy.
